I learned how to do the moonwalk yesterday… sort of. Take a look!
Darkness surrounded by six sides
Whatever it contains it hides
Ancient things from history holds
Safe from rust and moth and mold
Though many kings it may preserve
It doesn’t receive the praise deserved
Twilight fades, the sun may shine
But darkness stays within six sides

Last weekend me, my dad, and a bunch from my youth group took a trip to Arlington, Texas for a ginormous youth rally called Winterfest.

It averages a couple thousand people every year. This year was said to be the largest they had had with almost 5000 people. The theme, as you may have guessed, was The Mission… which was Christ! The focuses were on Know Christ, Be Christ, See Christ and, ultimately, Share Christ. The first night we got there, a band called Kutless had a concert! That certainly made up for the long bori… long drive over there! There were several speakers, a comedian, and a ”sandman“. The Winterfest team organized and performed several hilarious skits! And of course the always welcomed Bean and Bailey! To make a long story short we had a great weekend!
Monday was a day that will go down in Louisiana history! Bobby Jindal was sworn in as Governor. I was planning on going to the inauguration but my friend couldn’t go so I had to settle for our high definition 32in. LCD…

Watch the entire inauguration!
My Dad got this video from Uncle Jimmy and I thought it was pretty amazing! I think this is proof that a dog is man’s best friend…
Waiting to hold, this book of trees
Fading thoughts and memories
The quill dipped, the candle lit
Upon the leaves, an epic writ
Firmly planted, thoughts take root
While the fire burns to ash and soot
The pen, a messenger of the mind
Writes the words which soon may shine
The gardner is done, steps back and sees
The thoughts on leaves in this book of trees

Sadly enough, this is not a review of the movie in theaters but instead a post of my weekend! January 9th – 11th was spent in Meridian, Mississippi at a NCFCA regional qualifying tournament. This tournament, however, differed from most NCFCA tournaments we have during the first 6 months of the year. It was debate only! Yes, it’s true. I started to take debate classes with my club and began to enjoy the concept of it. Me and my friend, Micah, partnered up and decided to tackle the world of debate! The resolution for this year was:
”Resolved, that the United States federal government should substantially change it’s policies on illegal immigration.”
Who’s a little tired?

I thought this was a funny picture and decided to share it with the world. hehe That’s Macy!
(Compliments of my sister, Anna!)
Last night was “The Big Game”! The BCS National Championship face off between Louisiana State University and Ohio State University. A while back we had gotten a VISIO 32″ HDTV and just, in the last couple days, got High Definition hooked up! It just so happens that the channel the BCS Championship game would be on is a channel that we get in high def! We had Paw Paw over to watch the game with us! Though he had to leave at half time it was good to have him over to share the excitement of the game!

At this point in the game, if you zoom in on the picture, you will see that the score is tied at 10! However, the score(on the LSU side anyway) didn’t stay the same for long. Within the first two minutes of the game Ohio State University managed to get a touchdown… this infuriated the Tigers and the next 3 touchdowns were theirs! Ohio managed to get two more touchdowns and Louisiana, 1 more! The game ended with a score of 38/24! GooooOOOOO TIGERS!!!

It was an excellent game with fumbles, interceptions, a bad hike of the ball, and a couple of butter-finger players who couldn’t seem to hold the opponent! After it ended we were ready to hit the sacks but we all had a great time!
Last week (28th-1st) I’ve been up in Paragould, Arkansas with my youth group. We were at a MAP(Missionaries for America Program) retreat called miniMAP. It was held at Crowly Ridge Youth Encampment in Paragould. MAP is an organization run by Bro. Sonny Childs, who is an evangalist accross America. We drove 8 hours in our rented van and arrived around 3:00pm! The Denham Springs group (us) have been known for our skits in the past and this year arrived with 2 more. We have 9 people in our youth group that went to miniMAP… what a coincidence! The Brady Bunch had 9 people in it! Yep, you guessed it. We had one skit taking off on the Brady Bunch

and another reenacting a youth group that wants to make a promovideo for a ministry organization called AT-COW (All The Children Of the World). There were approximately 65-70 people there this year which makes it the biggest miniMAP in MAP’s history! Our schedule was this: Read the rest of this entry »
